At about 2 PM on Sunday January 12th 2025 the CCARC DMR repeater was relocated to a Rockton Mountain tower site which vastly improved the repeater’s coverage area. The repeater has bee operating from a temporary location near Clearfield since October 2024. This allowed members to ensure the repeater was ready for a more remote tower location with a substantial burn-in period. As it turned out, the repeater operated flawlessly which paved the way for relocation to the Rockton Mountain tower site.
In addition to covering the Clearfield area, the repeater coverage area now extends through the DuBois area to Brookville, south toward Punxsutawney and East into the Philipsburg area. The coverage map included with this post demonstrates the extensive reach of this repeater. The repeater carries the call sign W3CPA and operates on 444.625 / 449.625 MHz. The repeater’s DMR ID is 314287.
