CCARC members were saddened to learn of the passing of fellow member John NA2BA on Monday September 22nd 2025. John as an active member of CCARC and will be certainly be missed.
Tim N3PUL and John sat for their Technician Class examinations at the same time. They kept in touch over the years and built a strong friendship. Tim recalled how John was interested in flight simulators. John had set up a state of the art flight simulation system in his home. Tim had visited once for the purpose of joining John on a simulated flight from the Altoona-Blair County Airport airport to Pittsburgh International Airport. Flying was a passion of John’s that he enjoyed sharing with others.
In 2024 CCARC organized a VE Testing team allowing individuals to become licensed amateur radio operators. John, being an Extra Class amateur radio operator, volunteered to be part of the VE team.
John’s assistance and curiosity about all things electronics was a real asset to CCARC and will surely be missed.
