On June 16th 2022 progress was made toward making the newly relocated amateur radio facilities at the Clearfield County Emergency Management Agency building operational once again. Much work remains to be done but with the progress made today it should be realistic to see operational equipment within the next two weeks.

Today the existing antenna coax cables were pulled from the previous drop locations and re-routed to the new operating positions. In addition, a contractor has installed a 208 volt high voltage power outlet at the new operating position as well. The 208 volt is specifically for the HF amplifier and fully backed up by generator power allowing continuous operation should the facility loose commercial power.
Amateur radio operators Rich KB3QKR, Scott W3EOD, Mike WB3EQW and John N3SPW were involved in the project this evening. We are actively looking for additional hams to assist with this project, as well as regular operational duties once the equipment is operational again. Anyone interested is encouraged to use this web site’s contact us page for details on how they can become involved.
