Participating in the work session was Lars KB3WBT, Mike WB3EQW, John N3SPW and Rich KB3QKR.  Durring the work session a grounding bus bar was installed behind the equipment allowing all equipment to finally be properly grounded.  Lars KB3WBT is familiar with the Icom IC-7300 and spent time demonstrating its functionality and use to those present.  A needed RCA to RCA control cable was unable to be located which prevented the testing of the HF amplifier.  Lars was confidant he could locate the needed cable and will install it at a subsequent work session.  In addition it was noted that the Kennwood tri-band UHF/VHF mobile radio is not retaining stored memories.  It’s believed the cause is a dead memory battery and Rich KB3QKR is undertaking the process of replacing the dead battery.

With the Clearfield County EMA amateur radio facility returning to operational condition the next step will be to establish needed operational guidelines and make plans to activate the station for local and regional EmComm related nets.  More information will be made available these plans are developed.  Watch the Clearfield County Amateur Radio Club’s web site (www.clearfieldcountyarc.net) for announcements.
